What is Lux Therapy?

Lux Therapy is an AI-assisted mental health platform that provides 24/7 access to therapeutic support through advanced AI therapist personalities. Our platform combines evidence-informed approaches with conversational AI to make mental health support more accessible, affordable, and personalised.

How do AI therapists work?

Our AI therapists are built on large language models guided by therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches. They engage in natural conversations, provide emotional support, teach coping strategies, and help you work through challenges. They are not a replacement for a licensed clinician in severe cases — they offer everyday support and reflection.

Is Lux Therapy right for me?

Lux Therapy is designed for people seeking support for stress, anxiety, mild to moderate low mood, relationship issues, personal growth, and general mental wellness. If you are experiencing severe symptoms or thoughts of self-harm, please use the crisis resources at /resources/crisis-support and seek immediate help from a licensed professional.

How do I get started?

Sign up, complete a brief onboarding so we can personalise your experience, pick the therapist personality you feel drawn to, and start your first session. You can begin on the free plan and upgrade later.

Privacy & Security

Is my data private and secure?

Yes. All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS) and your data at rest is protected with industry-standard encryption. Your sessions are confidential and we never sell personal information to third parties.

Who can see my therapy sessions?

Only you. Our systems do not surface conversation content to staff, and we do not share your sessions with advertisers, insurers, or other third parties.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can delete individual sessions, your entire history, or your full account at any time from your settings. You can also request a full export of your data before deletion.

Do you use my data to train AI models?

We do not use your personal therapy sessions to train our AI models. Anonymised, aggregated platform usage data may be used to improve the product, never your personally identifying content.

Billing & Subscription

What subscription plans do you offer?

Three tiers: Free (limited sessions, text only, Aura therapist), Lux+ at $9.99/month (unlimited sessions, three therapists, longer sessions, voice enabled), and Lux Premium at $19.99/month (all five therapists, longest sessions, every feature). Yearly billing is available at a discount on the paid tiers.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes. You can cancel any time from the billing page with no cancellation fee. Access continues through the end of your current billing period.

Do you offer refunds?

If you have a billing issue or your experience is not what was promised, please contact support within 30 days and we will work with you on a resolution.

Are there discounts available?

We periodically offer discounts for students, military, first responders, and people experiencing financial hardship. Contact support for details and eligibility.

Can I switch between AI therapists?

Yes. Each therapist has a distinct personality and approach. You can switch any time from settings — your history is preserved.

Is voice therapy available 24/7?

Yes. Voice therapy is available 24/7 on the paid tiers, with real-time native-audio conversations and natural turn-taking.

How does mood tracking work?

Log your mood in seconds. Over time, the dashboard shows patterns, identifies likely triggers, and surfaces gentle insights. You can export your data at any time.

Can I use Lux Therapy on multiple devices?

Yes. Your account and conversation history sync across phone, tablet, and desktop. Start a conversation on one device and continue on another.

What if I need human support?

Lux Therapy offers AI-assisted support; we are not a licensed clinical service. For mental health emergencies, please use the resources at /resources/crisis-support and seek a human clinician. For product or account questions, email [email protected].

Can Lux Therapy replace my human therapist?

No. Lux Therapy is designed to complement — not replace — care from a licensed clinician. Many people use it for support between sessions, as a journaling and reflection aid, or as a low-barrier first step before traditional therapy.

How do I report technical issues?

Use the in-app feedback button or email [email protected]. We typically respond within one business day and prioritise urgent issues.

Is Lux Therapy available in my language?

Lux Therapy is currently available in English. Additional language support is on the roadmap.
